Not sure if anyone has read this article...

...but the probable future features in Android look amazing. Who knows when much of it will be enabled (could very well coincide with the L release), but some of these improvments are major:

-Trusted zones (not just smart watches...but looks like potentially any Bluetooth device...such as your car)
-APP BACKCUP to your hidden partition in Google Drive (I can't tell you how much I have waited for this with most game developers refusing to utilize the Google Play Games Cloud Save functionality).

Yes, these look like adjuncts to L. The proximity unlock also applies to Chromebooks, keeping them unlocked when your phone is near!

App backup would be freaking awesome. I mean I don't mind using TB and it does rock, but to have the basic apps backed up to Google drive automatically would be killer and a huge time saver for me. I do like that they put these things out in the play services so manufacturers can't sit on their a$$ about pushing out some of these updates now.

I am curious to see which will need a OS upgrade to L and which just will work /w play services and a magic switch Google flips.

It's an even bigger update for those of us that refuse to root their devices. :D

Anyway, I have moved to a Nexus only "lifestyle"...so I am just ready for L to be released.

C'mon Google. I am impatient!
