I used to follow all the readings on it but have lost interest and hope.

Are we even close to a full-scale fusion powerplant?
 
They can make anti-matter; my guess is that it's very possible, just not enough money to be made with it.
 
not really, from what I hear they are building a new fusion reactor in France or somewhere in Europe that will help them experiment and learn even more about fusion power. The thing is once we can get fusion power functioning properly we will never need another energy source again.
