No.

This has some potential as being a fusion reaction, however I personly don't find it all that likely. Even if it is a fusion reaction, then its not being sustained over a period of time, we can do that already.

As pointed out- Nope.

IF this is true, the hope would be to get more energy out than you need to put in. The techniques used here are infinitely easier to construct and maintain than laser/magnetic containment stratagies. Mr. Fusion here we come!!!

Of course I don't believe it, since I am such a disbeliever in practical fusion within the next 50 years if it happens at all, but we will see.

Yea, I don't see what is so special unless the reaction is still going...they seem so happy about bashing a couple molecules together...

Although this has little value currently (if it's true), the question is can it be applied to other methods to improve them? We're going to have to let this fall through the sieve of science and see what the real value of this is. It would be great if they could use this method to stabilize other fusion methods.

It looks good to me,I read an article in Science I think. Unlike the Ponds and Fleischmann claims 10 years ago, this reaction is accompanied by the expected particle emission. Unless they are making a mistake in the neutron energy measurements, it is hard to see what else could cause 2.5MEV neutrons.However,This deserves no serious attention until some one else repeats it. The Physics community got Bar-B-Qed on "Cold Fusion" before. Lets not let it happen again especially when the news is coming from Kremlin Avenue .

Actualy, thats exactly the issue under scruteny. Supposedly an observing scientest didn't pick up the nutron emmisions...

But that is taking into account our current factor of technology Pretty dang useless, in that we already know that!
