Fury X Issues

I often have this issue where when I wake my PC, whether its sleeping or completely off, no picture will be displayed on my TV. Everything component that has LED lights in my PC will light up, including my Fury X's Radeon logo, expect my Fury X's eight dots , which indicates its load, are all off. Holding the power button on my PC usually fixes this issue. Any ideas what the problem is?

I've tried uninstalling all AMD software including drivers, but that didn't remedy it. I also reset Windows 10 but no luck there either.

Also, sometimes when booting cold, I'll get the "Overclocking error" bios message and it forces me to go into the bios. After booting back into Windows 10, without changing any oc settings, I can game for hours without any crashing. Any suggestions guys?

Thanks in advance!!

try setting power options to "high performance" and also check pci-e power settings under advanced power settings.

My pci-e power settings show that Link State Power Management is off. Should I turn it on?

off is correct - means the pcie bus should have full communication and power available to it in sleep mode (ie - no power savings)

make sure you have the latest bios for your motherboard.

Try turning the display off and on again or simply changing the input on the display to something else and back again.

When I had this issue that was the only way to get picture back. Faster than the hard reboots I had been doing
I get the oc error too. I just reboot again. Until I get it while gaming I ignore it.

Reads like a MB problem. Are you overclocked? Try a bios, double check your overclock, or check your psu cables for a bad connection/pin?

When you are in Windoze, you have no issue. It's seems to be booting and waking issue. You'll have to pinpoint which is which, because booting and waking from sleep are two different problems, though waking from sleep is tied to your MB and OS condition so I suppose they are similar in that respect. Waking from sleep can be tackled by drivers, then an OS wipe.

What driver version are you running?

Try CTRL+ALT+DEL to wake it back up. Report back if this works.

I have seen this caused by low quality / not enough wattage PSU as well.
At this point, it don't look like a Fury issue.

Driver Packaging Version: 15.201.1151.1005-151012a-295347E-ATI

Catalyst Version: 15.10 Beta

If you look in my signature, you can see my current build. I have a gold 850w psu, which I'm fairly certain is sufficient for my PC.

Also, I just updated my motherboard to the latest bios. The update is supposed to improve system stability so maybe this will help.

It happens with me as well. Happened with my g1, hybrid and in sli. It is an issue with win10. Try holding shift key for some seconds next time. If it shows a prompt(or makes a warning sound) asking about filter key on/off then it the win 10 problem. What I do to tackle it is press n hold the shift key after I press power button n only let it go when I see windows wait animation.. Never had blank screen when I do that.

Sorry, missed that.
Let's hope the BIOS update does fix your issues.

If I may contribute my experience to this thread - maybe I can provide some light as why people are experiencing this.

For all video cables, inputs, and outputs they are all governed and implemented by VESA.

For example, Computer Displays and Graphics Cards have a set VESA standard for communication protocols like a computer display's EDID which is the main form of communication between a Display input port and a Graphics Cards' video output port. The video cable must also use VESA standards too for the whole environment to work perfectly with no issues. It is very unlikely that a Graphics Card is not using the VESA standard for its video output ports. But, I have seen and tested many scalars for computer monitorss, video cable convertors/adapters and video cables that are NOT using VESA standards or is not VESA compliant = many are causing video picture issues and wake from sleep issues. When developing some of our monitors we had to modify the firmware for the scalar/monitor PCB (that we received from our scalar partners) to make it VESA compliant to make sure it doesn't have the issues that some of you are experiencing before they are market ready for shipping.

There was one incident that AMD had to add support to its drivers for a huge monitor brand's new display with a non-VESA compliant video input causing issues. There was another incident where a monitor brand had to release a firmware fix to a particular model's wake from sleep issues. Ultimately it is up to the monitor vendor to make sure they are shipping monitors that are VESA compliant and not AMD's job to check and fix every monitor in the market with its drivers.

Also, for example, a TV's VESA standard may be optimized to work with a Blu-Ray player or media player - but may not be optimized to work with a PC Graphics Card or PC video output. So you may have some communication and handshake issues. There are some TVs out there that will work with no issues with PC video outputs.

I still seem to have this issue with my Fury X not always "turning on" while booting up my PC. Also, I am on the latest AMD gpu drivers and motherboard bios update.

Any other ideas out there?
