Fury X install

Hello, how are you?

I am wonmdering if anyone installed a Fury X on a HAF XB Evo?

It's my case and I have some reservations about a fury X.
The AMD Manual states:

For proper mounting of the radiator assembly:
• Select a location that has the most open grills on the case for better air flow.
• The radiator assembly must be mounted above the graphics card and in a location that has minimal impedance to air flow.
• Do not mount the graphics card or radiator assembly above an open power supply to prevent power supply damage in case of coolant leakage.
• The radiator should be mounted on the side of the chassis so that the tubes exit from the bottom edge of the radiator.
• The radiator assembly must be correctly mounted inside the computer case and not left resting outside of the case.
• Do not change the placement of the fan on the radiator.

This is my system:

It has two intake 140mm fans and one exhaust spot for a 120mm fan.
I could mount the radiator on the exhaust spot, but then I would have two issues:

- The radiator would have to sit on it's side, since the HAF XB is a desktop case with the motherboard horizontal.
So, the in and out tubes woulb be to the side and not to the bottom as AMD recommends.

- The radiator would be right next to the CPU cooler and it the path of it's airflow, so it would take in hot air.

The other option would be to sacrífice na intake fan and mount the radiator as intake.
The tubes would be on the side, but it would take cold air from outside the case.

In either option, the radiator would be on the same level as the card, and not above.
Would it be an issue?

If I installed it as intake, would it be better in front of the CPU cooler? Or the card?

Can you please help me out?

Thanks.
Regards!

If I had this case i would put an intake fan (at the bottom of th pic) to throw air right on cpu cooler and exhaust on other side(top of pic) and fury's rad on the parallel slot keeping the rad higher than the pump..

I seriously don't understand the appeal of these extremely limiting cases that you guys get. Sitting here happily with my Fractal Design knowing I could install 4 Fury X if I had the financial means to lol.

Looks like the easiest way would be to mount the rad as the intake like you mentioned. At least then you'd have cool air blowing across the rad.

I would install it as an exhaust behind the CPU cooler. Check your temps and noise levels with it there and if you don't like something about it, adjust from there.

One of the things I like best about the liquid cooling is keeping temps inside the case cooler. Using the rad on an intake doesn't help much there.

I would either mount it as an exhaust after the CPU or as an intake in front of the card. IMO, installing it as an intake in front of the cpu is a bad idea. Blowing hot air from a single rad trying to dissipate heat from 250-350w onto your cpu cooler seems like a bad idea.

IMO, its personal preference. Look how AMDmatt installed his, it's all over the place so I don't think the pipe orientation matters too much.

sorry no pics, but i have a 120mm rad on the INSIDE of my Xb and my GPU is a 770, and it still fits. even without googling the length of the fury i am convinced it will fit without any issue.

Is it me, or is the Fury X impossible to install as intake due to the placement of the pipes and the reservoir on the radiator?

The fan might not flip since the powercord is attached to the rest of the unit.

The fan can be flipped, but exhaust is a far better idea than intake. The marginal amount of cooling gained isn't worth the added heat to the interior of the case.
