Furniture with an ethernet connection?

The Fiancee and I went furniture shopping today for our living room couch and chair.

One of the stores we went to had an arc-shaped leather sectional couch that could seat about 9 or 10 people (it was huge). There were several flip-up consoles between the sections of couch that could hold DVD/CDs, drinks, etc. I was amazed to find a CAT5 connection in one of the consoles near the middle.

I never did see exactly where the source cable plugged into the couch and didn't see a price tag.

yeah, unless youre my neighbor and you just built your own uber-awesome house because you own a contracting company and you have gigabit ethernet wired throughout your new home, yet, only have one computer that stays in the same exact room and you still have dial-up

It's probably so you can download the data from your USB enabled running shoes to the couch. That way, when you sit around on the couch all day long it'll know that you're not a complete lazy ass.....😉
