Furniture plans- specifically entertainment center plans.

So, I've decided to build my own entertainment center. I've had experience with woodworking, and liked the stuff I made before, but this will be my first large project. Currently, this is my cabinet:

Not the greatest picture, but in short, I really don't like it. Granted, it's not a bad piece of furniture at all, but I want something different. Perhaps smaller, I'm not sure. Regardless, I've been looking a little, and haven't seen many plans online (at least freely). Are there any good plans that are free, or even cost a little bit that I can get on eBay/the internet in general?

my uncle put everything of his into a server rack he bought off craigslist. looks pretty good to me.. i told him he should ditch the dvd switcher and put it all onto an HTPC/media server.

Looked on Craigslist today, didn't find anything. Plus, building it will allow me to make it as I want (sorta), and I could put glass doors on it or something if I felt like it or other "tweaks".

You're asking on the wrong forum.

Check out woodnet.net and sawmillcreek.org. They both have great forums and you can ask questions there and get good advice.

For ideas, take a look at lumberjocks.com (look at the projects and then select by category) - http://lumberjocks.com/projects/tag/furniture - You can also use the search and try to narrow it down.

I'd start there and find what type of style and finish you are looking for...then ask questions related on how to build. Then proceed to measure the area and the items you have and create some plans based upon the specs you need.
