I lived in a house with five guys. One of my roommates was dating a younger college girl for about 4 months. She was cute but had an immature, annoying quality that was rather unsettling. She was at the house CONSTANTLY, even when her boyfriend wasn't there. The last straw was when we all received letters asking to either join her on a missionary trip to Puerto Rico or to donate money to her cause. I guess the fact that she was a rather strict Christian (still had sex though) didn?t help her annoyance factor.
So one of my roommates, we?ll call him Adam, decided it was time to make ?The List? which consisted of all her shortcomings. It was sort of a joke but there was definitely some truth behind it. We managed to come up with 10+ things, number one was the missionary letter.
When her boyfriend came home, we?ll call him Tim, we presented him the list. He thought it was funny while realizing that it had some truth to it. After a little while, he told Adam (the roommate who originally came up with the whole idea) that it was somewhat mean. Adam said that Tim could make a list about his girlfriend, as he didn?t really care.
So while Adam goes to take a shower, the three other roommates start making a list about Adam?s girlfriend. I didn?t actually know her, so Tim takes the initiative and starts the list off with a bang: ?Looks like a boy? (ouch!). It goes downhill from there as Tim comes up with some pretty mean stuff, but it?s all a joke really. Other items I remember were, ?Gives horrible head? and ?Has smaller breasts than Adam?.
I would like to make a note that she actually is pretty hot, and Adam is extremely cool guy himself...so don?t think these are nerds in the back of your CS class.
So Adam emerges from the shower and we present the list to him. We all laugh pretty hard as we go through the list. He took it really well and went along with most of the stuff. His reply to the ?bad head? item, ?Yeah, that?s true.?
So we had our fun and Adam tossed the list in the garbage in the bathroom. A few hours later Adam?s girlfriend visits for about an hour and leaves. Adam comes in to the family room and says, ?She found the list and she?s really upset.? Adam is known for pulling pranks so I was highly skeptical. He insisted it was true and he went to tell the other roommates.
He walks in the master bedroom where Tim and the other roommates are hanging out. Adam says, ?My girlfriend found the list and she?s really upset.? He then adds, ?The list we made about Tim?s girlfriend wasn?t even half that bad.? Well Tim?s girlfriend is sitting in a seat in the same room. She looks at us with a 'WTF' expression?we?re all fvcked now.
Turns out that Adam?s girlfriend went to the bathroom and saw a few words on a piece of paper. She read enough to realize that it was about her and took it out of the trash. Apparently the ?looks like a boy? comment really set her off. She was so pissed and her lack of self esteem made it all the worse. To top it off, she took the list with her, something she could dwell on and even show around. Tim?s girlfriend quickly learned of the contents in list about her (thanks Adam) and that was a big bag of fun too.
In the end I was all in the clear, as I didn?t really know either girl well enough to contribute much to the lists. The whole thing was straight out of a sitcom it seemed.
