Print screen the deskop. Save it to a jpg file.

Right click on desktop, don't show icons.

Auto hide toolbar, put it on top.

Set the background to your print screened jpg file.

that's what i did to my friends' computers all the time. it was quite funny to see friends getting frustrated.

Next thing I'm going to do is change their mouse speed to incredibly low (with annoying trail!) and then flip their moniter 90 degrees.... should be good 😉

It can be fun to set their background to, say, bananaphone, or badger badger badger. You'd be surprised how many people have trouble figuring out how to get rid of it.

Putting in a live cd linux distro, like knoppix, and setting the bios to boot from the cd drive works wonders.

I did this one to a buddy of mine.

There is an .exe that is flash, It comes on with a wicked siren sound and the screen flashes, "I AM GAY" in huge bold letters.

I put it in his startup folder and cranked his speakers to the maximum.

Well, at 9:05 his PC finally fired off the siren, he was at the coffeemaker about 30Ft away and I nearly pissed my pants watching him do the kenyan dash for his cubicle.

I don't think I will ever laugh that hard again in my life, there were literally 20 people around his cube by the time he got to it.

Dave 🙂

I need to play some tricks on some friends and coworkers to just lighten the mood up at least here, its fricking dull 🙁 I've been reversing peoples left and right mouse buttons but thats getting old! any other ideas??

edit command.com

Screen cap their desktop. Then hide all icons, and taskbar. Set screen cap as the desktop.

You sit back and laugh as they try to click "start" and their icons.

I know this was suggested much earlier, but I would have to say this is the most effective and easy thing to do.

doesnt do anything on my laptop

Doesn't do anything on my desktop.

WIn XP Pro FWIW

This is a feature of Intel integrated graphics drivers. It'll work on practically every beige box office machine(unless the person who built the image turned it off); but your mileage may vary with other systems.

Another for this idea. Also, it can be even funnier if you put a 'Horse Pr0n' folder on their desktop and watch them desperately try to delete it.

Did not know about that one, that is going to make this trick even sweeter (used to move icons to a different folder).
