So I'm watching CNN for some headlines before I leave for work & to drop her off at daycare, my daughter's watching with me, drinking some milk.

There's a bit about the Walter Reed med center thing, and this guy pops up on screen, testifying.

She hops up, and almost screams, "DADDY! THAT MAN'S A PIRATE!"

That's not funny at all. The fact that your daughter is already associating classes of people with stereotypes indicates bad parenting on your part. I have friends who are pirates and friends with one eye, and to see this kind of display of prejudice makes me sick to my stomach. :disgust:

You're disgusting in attacking the OP's parenting. Get a grip on reality. OP, your daughter's remark was hilarious and I'm sure you're not raising a monster.

Edit: Hmm, my sarcasm meter needs new batteries.

Everytime my son sees a square rigged sailing ship he asks me if that's Jack Sparrow's ship.

That's almost as funny as the OP's daughter. :)

I feel it's my duty as a prent to raise her right-minded. Don't even get me started on illegal (or undocumented, if you're one of those pro-pussification-of-America types) pirate immigration.

Right on! I think its high time to build a wall around the shorelines of America to protect us from the all the illegal pirate migration! I am going to start a group of shoreline minute men vigilantes to start patrolling the coasts!

ha you're ridiculous. SHE'S THREE! His parenting has absolutely nothing to do with her association of that fellow with a pirate. Whats wrong, never read Sinbad the Sailer? pfffff

I think you've called my parenting into question over something 99% of the rest of the population finds trivial.....if that wasn't you then I apologize.

But that leads me to my next question....you seem to know how others should parent better than they themselves do. So do you have any kids? I'm wondering what your qualifications for all of this wonderful advice are.

If you don't have kids....please don't breed, mkay?

Come off it, dork. So I scanned fast and didn't see the word "pirate". You posted this what, going on four hours after I realized my mistake?
