I was talking to someone at Paypal about a charge I made at Best Buy which was supposed to be voided, but hadn't been yet. She says to contact them first and only escalate it to Paypal if they won't do anything.
Paypay rep: "But they're a very reputible company, and I'm sure they wouldn't want to do anything to alienate their customers"
Me: "...obviously you've never shopped there".
Brings a tear to my eye.
Oh, and if I can take a second to rant about Worst Buy, the reason this came about is because I was going to buy a Logitech Cordless Elite Duo the other day, because it was on sale and had a MIR. There was a sign on the shelf that noted this, so I took it to the checkout and purchased it, but the rebate didn't print out. I asked about it, and the drone had to call the "manager" to check it over. Turns out the MIR had expired earlier in the week, but the marker drones never took down the sign. I explained that the sign was still up, but he said it didn't matter and it was still void. So I said that I didn't want it if there was no rebate. After I explained this to him 5 times, he finally understood and (supposedly) voided the transaction. As I'm waiting, I was complaining about this and how Best Buy always screws me over. He got all emotional and defensive, saying they're "only human" and "try their best". I replied "if this is human, count me out", which of course went over his head. I also said "you know, this is the worst store I've ever shopped at". He replied "you mean THIS one?", to which I countered "well, yes, but I meant Best Buy in general". He says as I'm leaving "well I hope you'll give us another chance". I told him that every time I go into that god-forsaken store is "another chance". The "security" guy heard me, and as I was walking out said "hope you have a great evening!". I replied without looking back "only if you can erase the memory of me ever coming in here".
