Funny problem with volume settings

Hi, I am trying to find an answer for my friend.
Whenever he plays an mp3 (in Winamp or Real Jukebox) or any sound for that matter, when the sound ends, the Wave volume setting goes to minimum.
So he has to keep putting it back up at the start of any song or sound.

Any ideas - he runs Win98.

That's an odd problem. Although it may be a sound card issue. Try finding new drivers and installing them and see if that helps.
