Funny gray lines running horizontally across my moniter...

Just started the other night, I can't figure out whats wrong.. I've tried deguassing and checking the video cable connection in the back and such....
I have also tried changing the refresh rate and resolution/bitrate etc, any help would be much appreciated...

Can you take a screenshot?

You might be looking at moire lines.

Or do you have a trinitron monitor? If there are only two lines then you might have finally noticed the 1-3 damper wires that hang there and cast a shadow on the screen. Most of the time they are not noticable, but once you see them you see them all the time. They are used to stabilize the fine vertical wires of the aperture grill. If you lightly "pop" the side of a trinitron monitor you will see the wires shimmer.

Yeah, guess he would need to use a camera to see either of those. (Which is why I mentioned them after the screenshot)

How many gray lines? where are they located on the screen?

When do you see them? only on white backgrounds? black background?

More info needed.

Also, what brand/model is your Monitor and video card?
