Bush on Terrorism

"The war on terror involves Saddam Hussein because of the nature of Saddam Hussein, the history of Saddam Hussein, and his willingness to terrorize himself." ?George W. Bush, Grand Rapids, Mich., Jan. 29, 2003

"[T]he best way to find these terrorists who hide in holes is to get people coming forth to describe the location of the hole, is to give clues and data." ?George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Dec. 15, 2003

Bush on WMD

"There is no such thing necessarily in a dictatorial regime of iron-clad absolutely solid evidence. The evidence I had was the best possible evidence that he had a weapon." ?George W. Bush, Meet the Press, Feb. 8, 2004

Bush on our Economy(and why it's not his fault)

"The recession started upon my arrival. It could have been ? some say February, some say March, some speculate maybe earlier it started ? but nevertheless, it happened as we showed up here. The attacks on our country affected our economy. Corporate scandals affected the confidence of people and therefore affected the economy. My decision on Iraq, this kind of march to war, affected the economy." ?George W. Bush, Meet the Press, Feb. 8, 2004

"The march to war affected the people's confidence. It's hard to make investment. See, if you're a small business owner or a large business owner and you're thinking about investing, you've got to be optimistic when you invest. Except when you're marching to war, it's not a very optimistic thought, is it? In other words, it's the opposite of optimistic when you're thinking you're going to war." ?George W. Bush, Springfield, Mo., Feb. 9, 2004

Some of those are pretty funny. Although if you had somebody record pretty much everything you said, I'm sure you'd come out looking like a fool quite a bit too.

Ok, I'll add John Kerry quotes:

"President Clinton was often known as the first black president. I wouldn't be upset if I could earn the right to be the second." -- John Kerry, 2004

"I don't believe in litmus tests, but I believe very strongly that the right to choose and the right to privacy are fundamental constitutional rights and I can't imagine supporting a Supreme Court nominee who doesn't share my view of the Constitution." -- John Kerry explains his Roe Vs. Wade litmus test after explaining that he doesn't believe in litmus tests

"War crimes in Vietnam are the rule, not the exception." -- John Kerry, May 1971

"I noticed that gas is now close to three dollars a gallon here in California. If it keeps going up like that, folks, pretty shortly Cheney and President Bush are going to have to carpool to work together," the Massachusetts senator deadpanned in front of a sign that showed gas at $2.12

"I don't think any United States senator is going to abandon our troops and recklessly leave Iraq to whatever follows as a result of simply cutting and running. That's irresponsible." -- John Kerry, Sept 2003. One month later, he voted against funding for the troops in Iraq.

From a Humane Society questionnaire (and my favorite)

Do you have any pets that have made an impact on you personally?

When I was serving on a swiftboat in Vietnam, my crewmates and I had a dog we called VC. We all took care of him, and he stayed with us and loved riding on the swiftboat deck. I think he provided all of us with a link to home and a few moments of peace and tranquility during a dangerous time. One day as our swiftboat was heading up a river, a mine exploded hard under our boat. After picking ourselves up, we discovered VC was MIA. Several minutes of frantic search followed after which we thought we'd lost him. We were relieved when another boat called asking if we were missing a dog. It turns out VC was catapulted from the deck of our boat and landed confused, but unhurt, on the deck of another boat in our patrol.

Yeah, right. We're supposed to believe that a mine exploded with enough force to catapult a dog to a perfect landing, unhurt, on the deck of another boat without doing any damage to the men who were on the boat.

"I'm not going to betray a private conversation with anybody," Kerry said. As the crowd of several hundred people began to mutter and boo, Kerry said, "That's none of your business." - John Kerry March 14, 2004 in a Townhall meeting in response to a question about what foreign leaders he has met with.

Kerry showing poise and grace in a New York Times article:
just in time to see Mr. Kerry taken out by one of the Secret Service men, who had inadvertently moved into his path, sending him into the snow.

When asked about the mishap a moment later, he said sharply, "I don't fall down," then used an expletive to describe the agent who "knocked me over."

The incident occurred near the summit. No one was hurt, and Mr. Kerry came careering down the mountain moments later, a look of intensity on his face, his lanky frame bent low to the ground.

"I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it." Kerry March, 2004

While that remain true for most of us, none of what we say would ever effect any political out come of any country, the economy, or world peace.

This is the only one that's important and sadly it's not funny,

"I'm a war president."

It doesn't take as long to comprehend what John Kerry is saying as it does to understand what Bush is saying.

maybe, but it takes a helluva long time to figure out where he stands since what he says means nothing...

I thought that quote was funny, b/c Kerry basically is conceding the election to Bush w/ that statement.
