Awesome race, awesome horse. Did you see that move on the final turn? Santos was holding him back most of the race and then POW! Funny Cide just blew the doors off the rest of the field.

Trainer seems pretty confident in his length...we'll see at the belmont. Would love to see a triple crown winner, its been so long.

<---won the exacta on the derby partying it up at Churchill Down.

Go funny cide!

Funny cide as in the winner of the Kentucky Derby the most exciting two minutes in sports? He won the preakness, the second leg of the triple crown (super bowl of horse racing consisting of the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont races)

woo hoo!! I was wondering who'd won. Went and saw Matrix Reloaded tonight. Great movie.

Hope Funny Cide can pull off the hat trick of horse racing!

One of the most dominant wins I have seen in a long time. The group of guys that went in together are really getting their money's worth now! I bet he will be the next Northern Dancer when they decide to retire him and stud him out. Especially if he wins the Triple Crown. Weird to think that all the horses that raced today were part of the same blood line.

Just remember Funny Cide is a gelding. He's got now nads and can't reproduce.

explain something to me...

people say horse racing is boring these days because there is no definative horse that has won the triple crown in years.

on the other hand, people are saying golf is boring these days because tiger woods is winning everything.

why do people use opposite conditions to support the same argument? i think i'm missing something...

Well, Tiger has totally dominated the 'sport' of golf for years. The Triple Crown, if won every year, would be by a different horse, different jockey, different trainer.

Just watching the emotions of the trainers, owners and families during these races gives me chills. Shows you how big this is for them and the sport.

The exacta with 20-1 Midway Road, ridden by Robby Albarado, returned $120.60, the triple was worth $684.20 and the $1 superfecta came back $792.20.

I missed the Derby exacta by a nose...damn Empire Maker.

Hehe... gelded...

Somehow I still can't see Funny Cide winning the Triple Crown...
Empire Maker stormed him down in the Wood Memorial (with Pat Day holding back on his energy).
nearly caught him in the Kentucky Derby...

I wouldn't mind him winning though.
Though War Emblem should have won it last year if not for the major stumble out of the gate.

Well what else... its the year of the goat now... last year was the horse...
don't know exactly what that will mean...

I think he will.. he completely dominated this whole race staying at or near the front the whole time.
