While I would definitely agree that rape is horrible (my best friends are mostly girls, I know exactly how and why they fear it), I can still see the humor in Carlin's stand up on the subject.

IMHO there is nothing which can't be humorous, and noone should be allowed to say for everyone "that's not funny."

There is such thing as tasteless humor, and humor at the wrong time.

But to attempt to define another's sense of humor, or condemn him for it, is asinine.

Everyone laughs (even cheers) at the thought of the child molester getting it in the prison shower...

So obviously humor is based on circumstance.
