I'll start

"DUDE! I want the new Voodoo graphics card! It has a pentium 5 built into it!!!"

This kid also claims to be a hacker and have his own website...which he doesnt.

what a loser

lol that was like less than 2 years ago, way past the voodoo lifetime.

Probably been posted here before and most have probably seen it, but a kid asked on another forum somewhere if it was possible to download a videocard because he couldn't afford to buy a better one. I felt bad for him.

the best was the guy who bought the $.99 vid card on ebayand was mad because it woulnd't play WoW... tried to claim it was defective... it was on these forums like a week ago.

A 256MB GeForce5200 (I think) is better than my 128MB 6600GT, because it has more RAM.... lol

lol here's a quote I remembered at a forum once:

"No...the 9800 pro w/ it's 256 bit memory interface will rape the 6600 GT 128 mb becuzzzz it has 128 bit memory..so it's not good. not worth the money"

about a year ago, my friend was looking at buying a vid card form newegg (think it was a 9800pro). he had the pic up on the screen and was showing us the card. Prof comes along (and let me tell you, southern tech profs who know as much about anything passed win95 as they do about heart surgery are hillarious when you tech talk with em)... anyway, this guy comes along and he's ready to reel on someone for "loitering in his class." He sees this pic up on the screen and he must have been there about 5 minutes listening to us talk about GPUs, dvi connections, etc. and he says "Nice motherboard you got there."

We looked at him expecting it to be sarcasm or something, but no. He just looks at us like it is! "O wow, it even have onboard video!" he continues. From that moment on, we stopped trying in that class.

Learn the sad fact: The older generation don't want anything to do with computers if they can help it. Can't blame them though...only within the last 15 years has computers become mainstream. For these guys, it's like the world changed overnight :D

Professors just don't seem to have a clue how comp works. I had my heat transfer prof bring in a vidcard someone from IT gave him. He brought to class to show the heatsink and it effectivity (because it was a cheap plastic looking heatsink). After holding it up and telling us about the heatsink, he tries to think what it is he has in his hands. "...and this...what is this.....a network card or modem?....I can't tell the difference..." This Prof wasnt' even that old either. It was just sad...

I lost more respect for prof that day, not that I had much to begin with.

Not really about vid cards, but where I work, one employee tries to convince me that Macs are better for gaming.
