Illiegal Income

Illegal income, such as stolen or embezzled funds, must be included in your income on line 21 of Form 1040, or on Schedule C or Schedule C-EZ(Form 1040) if from your self-employment activity.

page 95 of the 2002 Tax Code. I chuckled when i read it. So that is what they got Al Capone on. 🙂

Itemized Deductions:

$765.00 - Marijuana for one year
$925.54 - Prostitutes while on business trips
$2,342.11 - Payoffs to company execs to get their company to buy my products

etc....I wonder how that would go over? 😀

By not declaring your income (legal or otherwise), you are in violation of the law.

That is how they nail mob people:Q They can not get them on normal criminal activities, but the non-reporting of income was able to be proven

They just do stuff like that so they can nail you for tax evasion when you get caught. That's what they eventually got Al Capone on.

By the way, bribes are not tax deductible. 😉

I think the IRS and government use this when they cannot PROVE someone is doing shady business, but suspects it. If they don't report this as income the IRS conducts an audit and will probably find the unreported funds, and thus criminals can go to jail for tax fraud.

Some state had tax stamps for tobacco and marijuana and it was illegal to sell the weed without the proper tax stamps.
The Internal Revenue Service sells the Marijuana Tax Stamps.
