Just got a new rig:

Epox 8kha+
512 DDR RAM
MSI Geforce 3 Ti200
WD 60Gig HDD 5400rpm
Mitsumi 24x10x40 CDRW
Windows XP Pro
Speedstream 3060 DSL modem

Ok,every now and again I get this wierd noise coming from within. The only thing I can think of that it sounds like is a dial-up modem, dialing up.It is very low tone and is just noticable enough to be annoying:)
I'm sure everyones aware of that squeeling sound a dial-up makes when its....well....dialing up.Its not the high pitched part of that squeel, but the low pitched that it sounds like.
I've opened the case and looked around.I can't really pinpoint where it's coming from, but nothing is obstructed.(Come to think of it,it kinda sounds like a little drill:))
Anyone have any idea what this could possibly be?And more importantly,is it anything to be concerned about?

Thanks

Try checking all the fans within the case. My fan on my chipset was slightly lose causing drill like noises from being off centered.

I'm w/ tmac8, start w/ the CPU fan and then move on to your case fans then finally the PS fan. Sometimes a lot of dirt on a fan will cause a high pitched whine. Hope this helps.
