Fun times with Paypal transactions

I have a FS thread here and at another more camera oriented forum. A buyer contacted me tonight and offered me the asking price ($800 + $20 shipping) for a lens. Great! Not so great. I told the buyer that I would not ship to an uncomfirmed address. The payment arrived and lo and behold, it's an unconfirmed address.

I did notice when I sent the funds request, the buyer had Verified Premier Member (147) behind their address. See the pic. What does that mean? Verified Premier Member (147)?

I've already e-mailed the buyer that as I already stated, I will not ship to an uncomfirmed address.

Next story and I hope this can be understood. It's also related to the FS thread.

Buyer 1 asked to buy it (I responded to him before the other person asked to buy it)
Buyer 2 paid first
Buyer 1 paid second
I removed the item from the thread when I received the payment from Buyer 2, before Buyer 1 sent payment.

The extra info is Buyer 1's original PM:

10:50 am Fri Is this still available? If so I'll take it. Paypal OK?

My response:

1:30 pm Fri It is still available and paypal would be great.

Buyer 2:

7:39 pm Fri I'm interested in buying your remote. Please let me know if its still available and if you're willing to ship it to Canada.

My response to Buyer 2:

7:49 pm Fri The remote is still available. I have no problem shipping to Canada...

9:06 am today - Buyer 2's payment arrives

4:53 pm today - Buyer 1's payment arrives

Who gets the item? How badly did I screw up?

it's really upto you to decide who to sell it to. But buyer 1 commited to the purchase first. you should've waited for him to send the funds.

Sorry. Two seperate problems. I thought I would be confusing...

When you're talking to buy 1, you should've responded to buy 2 w/ "sale pending."
