Wednesday nights at the "Last Concert Cafe". Tons of hot chicks, great bands and if you like to get stoned there is more weed than you could shake a stick at

St Arnolds Brewery on a Saturday. Bring a pizza and buy a collectors mug. They will fill it up with the same tokens as the smaller glasses.

St. Arnolds is awesome, I sold quite a few sensors to them. Very nice people and great beer

eat and drink

ballet, houston symphony, museums, Space Center/JSC, shop in the Galleria, etc...

go down to moody gardens in galveston

Houston Space Center was fun for me. Is Six Flags in Houston or south?

I first went to Astroworld in 1977. I went back in 1997 and remembered a lot after being gone for 20 years. One roller coaster we were on even got stuck at the high point of the first drop and we almost had to walk back to the station (a stomach turning endeavor for those afraid of heights), and my small nephews were with me. After waiting about 20 mins they got it fixed and we were allowed to continue.

It was memorable, to say the least.

For shopping, The Galleria, take lots of money. Also take the West Sam Houston Parkway N. and take the Hammerly exit. The toll booth attendant, Aretha, will sing for you, she sings in a choir at some church. Only .75 cents for some excellent entertainment for 10 seconds.
The Aquarium, downtown and take in an Astros game downtown too, Minute Maid Park is a nice stadium, then go clubbing downtown and again, take lots of money. Lunch at Tony's and at night a steak at Brennan's. Need I say it again? Take lots of money.

best thing to do in Houston is eat. tons of great restaurants for whatever you want. that's why it's always voted one of the top fattest cities.

OP, try this - http://www.chron.com/entertainment/

Another poster mentioned "pho", if you are into Asian/Vietnamese foods, then check out Hong Kong City Mall @ Bellaire Blvd and Boone Road. It can be very crowed in the weekend. Heck, take a ride along Bellaire and you have tons of Asian food places to pick and choose.

Six flags astroworld closed in 2005, and demolished in 2006.

I wasn't thinking of astroworld but rather fiesta texas. It's been so long since I have been there that I don't recall where it is nor whether it was a six flags establishment or not.
