Fun single player helicopter fighter?

Anyone know of a fun single player helicopter fighter type of game? I can't get Desert Combat to work anymore and I am looking for something along those lines.

Available on Steam is a plus.

For less sim-like, ArmA II (w/ expansion Operation Arrowhead)


The versatility of ArmA 2 is fantastic, especially with mods, and the chopper flying is really quite good once you get the hang of it. Download a few user created chopper-themed missions, plus what's already included, and you're got yourself something that blows BF and DC out of the water.

Oh, and co-oping with a buddy who acts as gunner for you in the Apache is DAMN fun.

Just remember, I'm too lazy to check the humble sale and see if it includes everything, but you really need Operation Arrowhead, so you want "Combined Ops".

It vastly improves the game, number of vehicles, AI, and is required for most mods and user created content, which is where the game shines.

It does. And take on helicopters, which is a helicopter sim from the same developer. It's on for 2 more days. It's actually a really good sale so I'm gonna buy it.

Edit: purchased. $6 for 8 Bohemia interactive games. Best humble so far.

Best idea ever. I buy their Android bundles a lot and found my favorite game ever (Bloons TD 5) through it. My only complaint is their games update much, much slow on Android. Is it the same with PC games?

I've got the RC helicopters, they'll have to bring their own strap-ons though. 😛

As another person who loved DC, how does the helicopter feel in Arma 2? The only experience I've had with any of the Armas was that early Arma 3 alpha test or whatever Steam had, it didn't last more than a few minutes before I uninstalled it. But that was just infantry. Good for 2 player co-op? (Pilot & gunner)

Yeah I know, I hear that voice saying it's just $6, what have you got to lose?

I think it's pretty good. Haven't done a whole lot of co-op but it's fun.
