I got an old laptop here, P2-333, 64MB ram, 4GB HD. Anything else besides windows and linux that could be fun to install?

PII 333 Mhz.. what about RAM? It took me @ 4 days to install gentoo w/kde AND Gnome on a PII400/192 MB RAM.
Fun, eh?

Nothing is more fun than Debian.

Gentoo or LFS? Of course, I wouldn't want to actually have to compile anything big on a 333Mhz PII...

Which is what makes them unfun on slow hardware 🙂

I really enjoyed installing and using BeOS. The OS is suprisingly fast, and people are still working on it to keep it up to date. BeOS max is one of the most recent updates to the OS. It can be downloaded at http://www.beosmax.org/main.php

Once you get it working, you can goto www.bebits.com to download software, drivers, and other stuff for the OS.

You could always install EvilEntity if you want to make your box "more eviler". 😛

From their site:
Many say, "MS Windows has won, and the Linux Desktop is dead!" Now the Linux Desktop is UNDEAD, and it has risen from its crypt in search of virgin blood. Mortal operating systems will cower before the beast that has been unleashed upon them. Dismiss the weak and inferior, embrace the Evil and Possess your Box with EvilEntity.
Lol, cracks me up. 😀

Depends on your definition of fun I guess, watching screens of compile output scroll for days doesn't exactly get my blood flowing.

I messed around quite a bit w/ BeOS when it was still an "official" distro - it was very neato. I need to check in on it again.

hehehe. Almost makes me want to try Linux again. Almost...

(Bookmarked for further consideration, when I get bored and feel like torturing myself with Linux yet again)
