Would you rather have fun or have lots of money?

By which I mean you can choose between constantly having a lot of fun all the time for the rest of your life or you can be given lots of money all the time for the rest of your life.

Bit of a fail poll the way it stands right now. You need to add a few restrictions cause otherwise everyone on the planet is going to choose option 1. If it were possible to have no money whatsoever and live on the street but still be extremely happy the rest of my life I would choose that of course. I think everyone would choose that over being a horribly depressed millionaire.

The thing is I don't know if they would, I didn't say that the people who choose money would live a life without fun, nor that those who chose fun would live a life without money, rather that they would be given excesses of their choice and have to make the other for themselves.

I'm the same, so if you can bypass the need and just have fun... The money is irrelevant.

I guess it depends on your definition of fun. A lot of things I find fun require money. So giving me fun would require giving me money.

But there are some things that you find fun that don't require money.

I'm saying that you will be given the thing not the money, I.e. if you enjoy skydiving you get to do it without paying, no need for money, free fun.

You didn't understand the thread I see, that's OK.
I understand it fine, it's the premise of choosing one that baffles me. I've never been an underachiever, so I can have both and find a question asking one or the other to be ridiculous.
We get it, you want to be a kid forever while those around you mature, but that's not the way it works.

The choice is what you are being given, you are offered two gifts, one a life of fun, one a life of money.

That's the choice, the rest is up to you.

I chose fun, but I can think of a few things I'd rather have than either of those.

Also, I think you should change money to wealth.

Money, of course. More flexibility.

Then you can have the life of fun same as option 1, and still be rich. The money allows you to dabble in all sorts of other fulfilling endeavors and projects if you wish, that would be in addition to the lots of fun you'd constantly be having.

Hmm...

I enjoy going to a store and buying stuff with money. I think that enjoyment would diminish a lot if I could just have whatever I wanted without money.

The more I think about this, I think I would be happiest with a large, but finite, amount of money given to me every year.

It does give you those possibilities but it doesn't guarantee it, option 1 guarantees fun.

I live in the real world, and you'll have to come down to it someday.
The days of daydreaming are over.
I realize this wasn't supposed to be a deep philisophical question, but it really does show more about your mind than you may have thought.
