Any suggestions? Really into multiplayer but it isn't a must. I have the orange box already.

I just cannot find a single game that is really good. It's so difficult and I was curious if anyone here has suggestions.

EDIT: seems the madness deal is over, but the collectors edition is still cheaper than the regular version 27.90 vs. 19.90

World in Conflict, its like an action RTS or RTT (Tactical instead of Strategy) as some people have coined it. Really easy to get into with online multiplayer and incredibly fun!

I like RTS and FPS mainly but um... I've played Bioshock, and it wasn't worth the money. (Good thing too ;) ) Played CoD4 and omg.. I hated it because the online play consisted of... Spawn, frag death, Spawn, air strike, Spawn, Helicopter death, Spawn, "Oh hai, yeah gunna shoot your brains out in ur spwn lawl". I got really frustrated with it because that is all it was and in hardcore mode, it was even worse. All of a sudden the frags are insta-kill and 3 frag perk is the favorite. It was extremely stupid. I did really well when it wasn't that kind of play though. Not really interested in penny arcade, never liked the comic.. Doubt I would like the game. I used to like the UT series sometimes but, it's just not the game for me right now.

World in Conflict is interesting but I have heard there is no economics system. (No mining for minerals, etc) That is kind of disappointing because that always seemed like one of the most key elements to a RTS. Oh and I have played C&C 3, and it did suck. Online play consisted of lag all the time. One second in my time equaled about 0.2 seconds in game time. It'd take a minute to make a power plant, it was stupid for that. Otherwise I did like the game and would have kept playing but instead I sold my copy.

Any more suggestions, thanks. :)

EDIT: I did have WC3 TFT and I loved that game.. I loved playing DOTA but so much that I had to get rid of the game. Sold my copy, not willing to go back now.

Spore Creature Creator?

It's free (well with lesser parts) but creating creatures is really really fun, some of the abominations I made can still get me laughing out loud.

Command & Conquer 3 + Expansion is a very nice RTS, it's not like current RTS that seem to focus more on tactical and combat aspects than base building and strategy, CNC3 feels like CNC1 so it's very nice, definitely recommended.

Bioshock is $15 on Steam through today.

I just bought it myself, can't go wrong for $15.

Did no one read my post? I said I played Bioshock, which is not worth a single dime. (Did not pay for it either) Played C&C3, Played BF2, Played Spore Creature Creator and that was a waste of my time, Played Supreme Commander and it just takes too long and have never played medieval 2: total war but I think I have seen people play it and it was not really interesting.

Anyway, anymore suggestions? I am not into buying a game if it isn't worth the money... (Meaning, single player only games are usually out of the question. Depends if it was good as The Sims or not, and has that replay value)

Despite all the shit people talk, FEAR is actually a really good game, as are its sequel and add-on.

Also, for some old-fashioned shooting fun, go find Jets'N'Guns. You can download the demo free, and the full game is probably 15 bucks by now.
ASSLOADS of good times.

Sounds like you need another hobby. If Bioshock and some of the other games mentioned aren't doing it for you then I don't think there are many out there that will. I liked Bioshock, but am feeling the same way towards much of the rest of the stuff that's out there. I'm hoping Fallout 3 is something I can get into because I'm not seeing much else catching my interest.

I had the gold version of jets 'n' guns and beat it. :) It was fun for some time but eventually got kinda old.

I liked Bioshock, but it was stupidly short. Definitely one reason I didn't pay for it.

I also thought it was terrible. I am appauled that IGN gave it the same rating as HL2..they are not even in the same league

I really don't understand why you didn't like Bioshock.. you must be one of those people that doesn't like story, and just blowing everyone's face off instant gratification. As for CoD4 that really only happens are large servers. The better/more intense games are smaller (8 people or so) AND it's MUCH better if you play Search & Destroy rather than Free for all (big nade spam fest) or TDM. Company of Heroes is also a really good game if you haven't looked into it. As for Penny Arcade, I've never read a single comic of that, I just played one of the games and had fun.

Oh and a pretty fun, underrated game would be... Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay.

Reconsider what you said about Bioshock and the story... You really think it was a good STORY? It was OK but nothing that was great about it.

I don't play GAMES for story; I play games for the GAMEplay. If I want a good story I'll go read a book.

Try:

- Mass Effect (In my book, that game is a spiritual sequel, or at least a nod to Knights of the Old Republic)

- Rise of Nations + Expansion (Very well balanced, and the A.I is superb, which is rare for about any RTS on the PC without at least a modification, but it's the case for that one, overall very well done, and fast too)

- Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War + Expansions (Especially the original, just for the campaign, absolutely epic)

- Team Fortress 2 (or Orange Box)

- Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (I was surprised by that game, especially since the latest patches, much more stable and faster)

- Doom 3 + Expansion (It's decent, might be worth at least one play through)

- Quake IV (Underrated game in my opinion)

- Prey (The second half of that game is awesome)

- Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun + Expansion (A.K.A C&C 2 & Firestorm, the best in the series, old yes, but if you can get over the dated graphics and sound effects you'll be in for one heck of a thrill)

- Shadow Man (The one and only good platformer on the PC market, and yes it is old, running on DX6 I think, or maybe 7 for the PC version, but an outstanding game set in a very, very huge and complex world)

That's kind of a silly thing to say, a lot of games have GREAT stories, just not games in the past 5 years...

Don't listen to the people who say you need a new hobby either, gaming just sucks hard right now, I don't see that changing all that soon either, things have to get worse before they get better I guess.

I hate that saying. It doesn't make any sense.

Gaming sucks right now. >_< I want all my old games back damn-it! I've been playing some GRID lately, it's kinda fun... But I only play multiplayer, singleplayer is horrible. (Same experience in SP as MP but with no people, lame)

Have you played Stalker? It has mulit-player but I've never played it and doubt it would really be that fun, but the single player game has held my interest for a very long time. After you finish you can go back and try a lot of different things, work for freedom and end up joining them, kill everyone you see (except the traders), and there are a lot of mods for it that can extend the gameplay further.

Bioshock had a fucking great story, you should maybe TRY to play something instead of dropping it because it's not an explosion extravaganza.
