Full version of Windows 8?

Well, I'm trying to find a full version of Windows 8 to download and use. I'm not looking to pirate it or anything of that sort. Essentially, I would love to use the Enterprise version they have the 90 day trial on, but I don't have any way of downloading it and activating it.

I don't want to continue to use the Consumer Preview or RC because well, I know they've changed things since those, and I want to use the latest most up-to-date version that offers me almost the finished build.

What are my options at the moment other than waiting till October?

EDIT: I really want to make it clear to the admins that I'm not looking to pirate it or anything of the sort. I'm looking for a legit way to try it out as my main OS.

As you note, there is already a way to trial Windows 8: the Enterprise evaluation. If you can't acquire that then I don't know how you intend to acquire any other version. And "trying" Windows in any other manner would be piracy

When I installed my copy of Windows 8 Pro it asked for the key before being installed. Not sure if it will let you do the trial install or not.

If so I can put the iso up for download.

How did you go about procuring your version of Windows? So you had to use your serial key to install it?

Well, from what I've read everywhere is that you can't do a trial with the complete final version of Windows 8. I'm not sure if that's balderdash or not.

Yeah that's what I've read as well. Which kind of sucks if true. Most of the time I don't have my key handy when I install. I'll install and configure then plug it in a few days later.

I was browsing my schools software site and saw the windows 8 pro download. Previously it said rc or preview. And they didn't say pro on them. They were enterprise copies.

Believe we got our official allotment of enterprise at work as well this past week. Don't think we'll be upgrading for quite a while but at least we have flexibility in the way our licensing works.

If you have question on the new version let me know. Looks like a lot of functionality is still there it's just been moved. Like some of the new things and others will take some getting used to.

The 90 day trial comes with its own activation, so that isn't a problem. I'm not sure why dlock13 can't download it though. It is easily found: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/evalcenter/jj554510.aspx

You will need a basic Microsoft account.

By the way, running slmgr.vbs /dlv shows one rearm count, so it might be possible to run this evaluation version for 180 days.

Go register at a college(for any IT programs) which has a Microsoft academic alliance and get a username and password to a site like this: MAA

And receive all OSes and many Microsoft products for free for *personal use*.

Thanks for that. I actually figured out that the Enterprise version did have it's own activation. I read in several places that it wasn't truly activated so you couldn't fully use Windows 8 and some features which is why I posted this thread.

Good idea. I'll have to look into that.

Also, ViRGE, this thread had nothing to do with piracy which is why I specifically stated I wanted a legal way to try Windows 8. I was under the assumption that the Enterprise 90-day trial wasn't fully activated hence the thread. I was asking if there was another way to try it because I haven't been paying 100% attention to trying out Windows 8 except for the RC and the CP. I just wanted a way to use Windows 8 till it officially came out so I'd be 100% ready for the switch.

Thanks for the help everyone.
