I'd say that's part of the allure. But there's also the quality difference, performance, safety, etc.

Like I said before, its an ugly RAV4 that costs over $40K.

I sat in one at the dealership and couldn't believe how cheap the interior was. Even closing the door from the inside reveals how poorly designed the car is. The interior door handle is in such a terrible spot you have to move out of your seat to reach it.

This thing just doesn't make any sense to me. Just save your pennies a little longer and get the X5 instead. Better yet, get an MDX .

Yeah, but now you can tell your friends that you "drive a new beemer", even if it's slower than a geo metro running on only two cylinders towing a trailer (2.5 liter version).
