What Works:
Torquey V6 with baritone exhaust, outstanding seat comfort, nimble handling for a front-driver, optional Rockford Fosgate's deep bass, simple controls, convenient hatchback.

What Needs Work:
Excessive torque steer, too much weight up front, big turning radius, cramped backseat, no stability control.

Bottom Line:
It's fun and it weighs over 3,500 pounds? Evidently, there's something to be said for front-drive coupes with big V6s.

they should make this car AWD again. and throw in a turbo while they're at it. for their GT version.

Very intrigued by the car, I hope they do well with it...the power and torque increases should help a great deal. Can't wait to see one in person and see what it's like.

i would rather have a 4000lb awd Turbo than this v6 fwd pos. that weighs 3300 or whatever it is.

Meh, this and the Evo are Mitsu's only decent-looking cars on the road. What's funny is the engine pic in that article looks more like an inline engine than a V6 (though I know its not.)

That's one fugly car. The 1st generation eclipse are awesome. They get worse by the revision. The lastest one's just hideous.

Honestly, I feel its a decent looking car. I still don't like Mitsubishi, and would never buy one. I like the fact it has a decent powered engine, however, I dispise the fact its FWD and a huge over-weight boat.

For references sake, 3500lbs is more than a V8 Iron Block Camaro/Firebird :p. This car is way too heavy for me to even consider it as a true performance car. Being FWD doesn't help either.

I puked a little in my mouth when I saw the picture. I'd only buy it if I was going to excessively mod the exterior right away.

Mitsubishi is trying very hard to accomplish just that. The new Eclipse is hideous.

It might be a V engine with very small angle (something like the older VR6 or the new W12 from Volkswagen, with like 15* angle between cylinders).
