But when we started tapping on parts of the overhead console, center console, grab handles and lower dash, we found ourselves once again experiencing "That Great GM Feeling."

Ahhh... at least GM is consistant. :)

In the latest C&D shootout, the SRX beat out the FX45, Cayenne, and Touareg.

Not bad!

And Motor Trend once named the late 90's Chevy Malibu "Car of the Year." I don't take much stock in those mag comparos anymore.

While I'm still  with some of Caddys stylings, I like the SRX.

Hopefully they won't get "That Great GM Falling Apart" when it hits 50k on the clock :p

Beyond the subpar materials quality, we felt the SRX lacked some basic features for a vehicle at this price point. Our test model had no power lumbar control and no power tilt/telescoping steering wheel. Only the front windows were one-touch up and down (all four side windows have this feature on a $24,000 Passat) and the only clock you get is a small digital display in the central screen.

Who was the guy that made fun of me bc I was bitching the MDX didn't have auto up windows? It only has power down on one window. The SRX has 2X what I've got. Grrr...

Yes, but it also was one of the fastest, one of the most comfortable, one of the best handling, and had the most interior room(and the only 3 row seating) out of the bunch, as well as being one of the most affordable.

They said so in the article - it doesn't really win it in flying colors, but short of some sub-par interior parts, it really isn't bad at anything.

Yet considering the class that Cataract supposedly places it in... the interior luxury aspect is severely lacking though that nitpick about the lack of clocks... that's just plain DUMB.

But the quip about the touch screen nav... that's actually a true PITA... which is why I pretty see those smart control systems (iDrive, MMI, etc) sucking major sour frog @$$.
