Anybody else getting these sometimes? They either happen when you go to click something in an app, or when you close it, or even just at random while using it. Completely ridiculous. Is this a new trend, or did I get hit with some kind of spyware?

Ads within the OS itself? Any app? Does sound like malware. Ads while browsing I can imagine or even within a free app with banners, but when you close an app?

i dont have it on android since I use the adblock plugin for the samsung browser but I get it all the time on iphone.

But the biggest bane of existence is the one that redirects you to the app store.

Full screen ads are nothing new, but they would be part of what ever app you were using. That includes exiting, if you are using the exit function of a free2play game it can show you a full screen ad that you would need to close before the app will actually send you back to the home screen.

You should NOT however get full screen ads when flicking through your apps, or using any of the system integrated apps like setup, or googles own email/calendar/SMS apps. (None of googles apps will do full screen ads, accept chrome/browser in which full screen ads would be part of the web site you are viewing.)

If you don't want to see ads in chrome I'd suggest sideloading nochromo. Chrome minus ads and no need for rooting/hostfiles etc. As for other apps just try different ones that don't have full screen ads or just buying the app to disable them (most are less than 5$ for no ad upgrades).

Hmm I'll have to figure out what apps are doing it then and find alternatives. It's so random too, so it might do it one time for one app, but then do it another time for another app.

Wonder what happens if I block all the ad server hosts at my firewall/DNS server, would it stop the ads from coming up or would I still get them, just they'd be blank?
