Full-on laptop for under $3000? From whom???? Wireless networking?

I'm looking for a laptop, which I may get through work. I don't want something too big.

Screen - dunno
Video - dunno
Memory - 128 bare minimum or else 192 MB
OS - preferably Win 2000
Pentium III or AMD or Celeron I don't care that much. PIII 600 would be fine.
Floppy or Zip or both. If zip it has to be built-in 250 (I already have an external USB)
CD-ROM or DVD-ROM
Wireless networking + basestation

How will the basestation business work? Dell has an option for the card and the basestation but not both. Seems odd since I figured you'd need both. I figure the way the way to do it would to be to buy a hub for home and plug my DSL modem into the hub, and then plug the desktop into the hub, and the plug the wireless basestation into the hub.

Or maybe I'll just an iBook (gasp! 😉) with an Airport. The main problem with the iBook is that it's big and I'll be the only one around here with one. I don't like OS 9 that much either. (OS X would be good though.)

soon (or now, not sure) dell wil have latitude series laptops that have the wireless networking antenna built in so you dont have to worry about breaking something off the side, that would be something id do...i think it was in this month's pc mag in the first looks section, but im too lazy to go get it
