Heard this program on the radio this morning. The online version references a more detailed article in Nature.

Today is the second anniversary of the earthquake/tsunami/nuclear disaster. Over 150,000 people are still displaced due to the nuclear aspect of the event, which has also had a profound psychological impact on those affected.

I would expect this to cause great mental anguish to all that were displaced/affected by this series of events. I couldn't imagine having to walk away and changing everything in one's life, it has to be hard on even strong minded people.

The impacts they were describing on the radio reminded me of some of the problems often described as being endemic on Native American reservations.. and for many of the same reasons.
