Anyone uses the fuji scanner ? These are pretty pricy and i dont want to buy the wrong scanner.

I think any scanner would work but this one comes with SnapScan Organizer software.

My question is the software side. Anyone used it or have experience with it ?

The manual says you can change the location of the file storage, does that include network drives as well ? I know some "free" software the comes with these some scanner limits you to local storage only and pay for upgrade for network access

Thanks in advance if anyone used these before

One of our offices has a few people with older scansnap scanners and they save to network drives just fine. I dont know if they changed anything in later revisions of the hardware/software, but I cant see why they would nix that option.

Don't know about the software, but the ScanSnap is awesome if you scan frequently.

This is a great machine, set one of these up at work almost two years ago and it has been flawless.

I have one and it works great. Only down side is it's not a TWAIN scanner so can't scan directly from TWAIN complainant SW. No big deal for me but it might cause some problems.

I've sold about a dozen of the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 model. My clients absolutely love them. The software is drop-dead easy to use, and the scanner itself is fast, reliable and well-engineered. I haven't used the Organizer software much, all my work is PDFs and E-mails and this device does well for that without having to get deep into the software.

All sheet fed scanners are susceptible to an occasional misfeed of 2 pages at once. With cheaper scanners, this is a huge inconvenience especially if you scan large jobs often. The ScanSnap S1500 has an ultrasonic detector that constantly checks for this, and causes a popup to appear when it happens. Once you unstick the page, a single mouse click allows you to either (1) delete the misscanned page and continue, or (2) keep the scanned page and continue. Brilliant solution. Little features like this can be a major time-saver and totally justify the price of the product for busy professionals.
