I request your thoughts oh opinionated ones!

I like manual controls, but they aren't necessarily a must. I really want RAW capability. I like that this is reputedly very good in low light, and that it has 15x optical zoom (not digital, as we all know that sucks).

Prior, I was considering the Nikon s8100, but was turned right off when I realized it doesn't have a black and white mode.

FYI, I bought this, and it's going back. I am very disappointed in the picture quality. The features are nice, but they should have skipped the (reportedly) near useless GPS and put that money into a better lens. Doesn't focus well either. Autofocus always seems to be focusing everywhere but where I want it. I read extensively on how to get the best from this type of camera, so feel like it's not a complete user error issue. Probably just going to get the Canon S95 and be done with it. Debating tonight between that and a Panasonic and probably ordering in the morning.

I bought a Canon Powershot S95 and am extremely pleased with it. Fuji can go back to irrelevance to me now. That F550 was a whopping disappointment.

If I had seen this thread sooner, I would have told you to buy the S95 instead right off the bat.

Well, I'm also a stubborn jerk and probably had to learn this lesson for myself. Sagalore could definitely vouch for this. Maybe others will learn from my mistake. It really did sound like a good camera...until I saw the picture quality.
