EDIT: the camera is the MX-2900 Zoom Digital Camera

is the fuji finepix 2800 a good camera? my uncle wants to sell me his used one. he has to talk to my aunt first before selling it. so i dont know what kind of price they're going to give me. they don't honestly know how much it is worth. the camera was won from a party they attended and they do not know much about cameras. basically they went to a camera store who rips people off and i think they may have gave them a estimate on how much it is worth to their standards (stores standards). i think they think the camera is worth about $1,000.00 which in reality it is only worth approx, 3-400.00 dollars right now. thats the going price on the camera on ebay.com. so basically it has like 6x optial zoom, and a lot of cool features i would think. i played recently with my friends finepix or coolpix 1.3 mp camera and the photo's came out pretty good. the 2800 camera is about 2.1 i think and i honestly can't say how good the pictures are. but if you have this camera, would you please let me know how good the quality of the pics are, and if you can show me some samples that would be nice too. but on the other hand there is a hp 318 2.3 mp at office depot today for $199.99 but it has no optical zoom which from what i hear is a useful feature. what camera should i pick up. the 2800 is kinda big and bulky and looks like more of a professional camera then one i would just carry around all the time, but yet it has some nice features. what should i do? im thinking that my uncle would probably ask my aunt and maybe give me a $500.00 price range, but i dont want to low-ball them if you know what i mean. then they'll just say that they don't want to sell it to me. i would print out the page where ebay is and i could tell them that this is the going price for a brand new one, and if you could lower the price for me just a tad bit it would be nice. do you think $200.00 for the 2800 is a good deal? it is used, but barely any usage on the camera itself. please let me know, thank you very much. forgot to mention that i will have to buy the usb cradle dock to upload the pictures too i think because i dont think it came with the camera for some strange reason.

This is a great camera site. I checked out the Fuji. It can be had brand new for 300 from several places on the net, I think Wolf Camera has it for 350 or so. It's a point and shoot camera, not professional at all, the zoom is great, it's a pretty small camera, not pocket sized, but nice. Don't bother with a camera that doesn't have an optical zoom. The digital zoom is just like putting the picture in Photoshop and zooming in that way, you won't get good quality pictures without an optical zoom. The 2800 should have a USB cable that comes with it standard. You might need to buy a bigger Smartmedia card to take more than 3 or 4 pictures.
