anyone here have one? i'm thinking of buying one for my vacation next week, but i'm wondering what people think about it. seems like a good camera for the price.

how much r u looking to spend. the biggest beef i have with it is that it uses xd memory, which is kinda costly compared to compact flash.

It's a great solid digicam, highly recommended.

You could buy the Fuji Finepix 2650 for $149.98 after $30 off $150 coupon from Staples

Or if you're lucky you could pay half that and buy the Olympus D380L for $60.48 after clearance, coupon and MIR (YMMV).

Sorry to hijack this thread but Ross can you keep me updated with the deals for dell? I cancelled the laptop as we are looking for a better deal. Please keep me updated if you can, thanks Ross.

do you where i can get the coupon for staples?

Yep search for Staples.com coupon codes and you'll find them or they're on FW Hot Deals forum.

well, the finepix 2650 is $169 at newegg, so i was thinking about that much. is flash memory that much cheaper?

my friend paid $45 for a 128mb xd card. i paid $20 for my 128mb cf card. but on a brighter note, i have read somewhere that the xd card prices should be dropping, since more mfr's have agreed to start producing them. i think right now, it's just fuji and olympus.

i have the finepix 2650. i bought it quite a while ago, and so far it works just great. im no camera expert so i cant really compare it to other digicams or rate it, since i have no experience. but this was my first digital camera, and as far as im concerned, it fits my needs fine. very easy to upload, manage, options, movies, whatever. its held up so far.

How is that Canon G5? Any good?

Yes, excellent but way to much camera for the average consumer.

Canon A70 gives you the best bang for your buck.

Lately I find myself more and more drawn to [the dark side]the Sony P72[the dark side].

Added bonus it takes 2 regular AA's, pop in some NiMH's and you're good to go!

Just wish Sony's used CF instead of Memory Stick media.

See? That's why you need to stay on this side of the line. 😉

I know but sometimes I have my weak moments ...

I begin thinking if I had a Sony digicam, Sony VAIO laptop, Sony desktop PC and Sony Clie PDA ... wow Memory Stick media!

Then I wake up in a cold sweat realizing all that would cost a pretty penny.

How are Sonys, any good Ross?

I'm not a huge Sony fan but I do think the F717 and P72 are excellent digicams.

Canon PowerShot for life!

CF ownz j00!

The F717 is regarded as the best 5mp camera under £1k.............
