This deal bites, I just got off the phone with FujiFilm headquarters 1-800-800-3854 option 1, who confirmed our worst nightmare. He said the rebate is only valid if you purchased the Fuju Finepix 1400 on or before 11/09/2000. He is already aware of Shop4Digital and Amazon still having the rebate forms but even though the rebate forms say they expire 01/31/2000 it does not matter. Fuji will ___NOT HONOR____ your rebate request if you did not purchase the Fuji Finepix 1400 on or before 11/09/2000. This is because of "massive price roll backs", which is a bunch of total BS if you ask me. Come on let's sue 'em! (j/k)

Hmm... I dont know, I just spoke with a lady at 1-800-592-3076 (fuji promo info) and she said that they would honor the rebate? even if they dont, it is still a good price for the camera, I got $110.00 off with the 20 off 100 and the 10% off digital cameras, and the 20% off for passport purchases, it is $50.00 cheaper than the lowest on pricewatch which doesnt include shipping.

spikemansd - Even if Fujifilm.com had the rebate and it said expires 01/31/2000 it does NOT matter, it's still INVALID, so unless you buy this digicam 11/9 or before then kiss the rebate bye bye.

This is straight from Fujifilm themselves, give them a call or e-mail if you want to make sure for yourself. Let's hope that I am wrong.

I'm all for it being wrong. (Of course... since I bought one. *cough*). Anyways, the rebate form says nothing about dates of the offer being subject to change. And, with the stated dates, there seems to be a great case for getting the rebate.

That they say they won't honor them sounds like a blanket policy answer so that they don't get swamped. For those of you (us) that care to put the nose to the grindstone, it seems reasonable that victory is in sight. Heh.

The promo ends Dec. 19th I think. Here is the link to get you to the MSN Passport Deal here. You must link to the site through here to get the 20% off!

I wouldn't bother with the Fuji 1400. I bought one recently from Staples and find it pretty crap - despite what the reviews say.

The Kodak DC240 is much better and can be had for much the same price with the current dealz.

have you guys heard of the canon g1?

they have a good review for it at dpreview.com

puts it slightly ahead of the CP990

in fact, they have good reviews for quite a number of digicams
