Fuji did a wha?

How do you zoom it?
Um, get closer to the subject?

Looks cool. If I weren't spoiled by p&s zoom and macro already I would add it to my list to take a close look at. It reminds me of the Canonet I learned on.

mtf charts suggest the lens is sharper than the 35 summicron asph :awe:

apparently the lens and sensor have been designed for each other to provide maximum IQ

Interesting "hybrid viewfinder" -- not sure it's worth the likely expense, but it is a cool idea.

I hope that the exposure compensation dial can be repurposed as an ISO dial.

When they talk about "a built-in ND filter" are they really just saying extra-low ISO's, e.g. 25, 12, 6?

The more I read about this and stare at the sexy pics of that camera, the more I want it. I want to sell my furniture for that thing. I'll live on my mattress on the floor for that.

yeah.. gunning for the Leica X1 as OP mentions. I can certainly tell they took design cues from the X1 (Shutter dial, aperture ring, classic design, etc.)

But I'll still say, I'm sure leica's packaging is worth the other 1k! Nobody's gonna throw that packaging away!

well, to be fair, Leica throws in a copy of LR.... I wouldn't throw it away 🙂

Cameras like this are never going to win the best bang-for-your-buck category. These are the custom show-cars of the camera world, for people who prefer form/style over function and are willing to pay for it (re: Leica users).

if the lens is as good as they indicate then it's a lot less expensive and smaller than a 24L and 1000D. less than half the price even at $1,000. (yes, the 24L gets you a stop faster but it's not sharp at 1.4)

discretion is a function all it's own 🙂

(heck, it probably wouldn't look too bad against a 5D2 and 35L)

depends on what their function is. a small, lightweight, easy to just carry around camera with a sharp fast lens... that's a function I want. I disagree that this is form/style over function.

it IS something you'll have to pay for tho.. the quality combined with compactness. Not only in cost, but in versatility

1k is at the either can live with or without it line. im pretty optimistic that it can be attainable at about 600 pretty soon. only question remain, how's the bokeh.
