I think buy.com dropped the price, don't remember it being $180.99 before. Apply the $15 off $150 coupon that can be found on any technical bargain website.

$165.99 Shipped! I have read lots of good stuff on this cam :)

Do a search for item #CYE7P6. Shows up on their home page for me tho.

Enjoy!

I cant see how you think this thing is a POS. . . I have the z2600 and I love it. Easy to use, has a few advanced features (nothing too great though). The only diff between the 2600 and 2650 is the 50 can record unlimited video and isnt limited to 20 second clips.

gread deal on this digicam

I think the better deal floating around for this camera was the PM to Techdepot (if its still there) for 170ish and then use the 30 off 150 coupon from staples. With 110% this comes pretty cheap. YMMV of course with the degree of sucess in getting the PM and then the application of the coupons.

And the 2650 accepts xD media where as the 2600 accepts SM (which I prefer over xD).

The Fuji Finepix 26xx digicams are FAR from crap, they're some of the best entry level digicams out there.

Kodak digicams are absolute and utter crap.

I ordered two 2650's for $299 shipped from Executive Camera before Christmas. There is some negative stuff about them on the seller reveiws, but it all went well for me. They were Christmas gifts for my kids and they had a great time with them today.

A crap because you bashed the item without any justification whatsoever.

If this is a "POS" as you say, I'd like to see a better digital camera for $150.

That's right, you wont find one.

i know its a POS because i have used other digi cams and compared it with them. I know the quality of the images are pretty good and its at a reasonable price, but this camera is horrible in dark light situations. And the size of the camera is so bulky, can't fit in your pockets (although it might, but when you try to take the camera out you might open the battery compartment, happens to me alot). Yes, i agree this is a pretty alrite entry level camera, but now I am a more experienced "camera guy", so i know this camera is POS. Planning to get the canon S230, now thats a POG (Piece of Gold) :)

The camera is not the BEST in low-light situations, but it works fine for me. Occasionally it takes a few tries to auto-focus or the flash doesn't fire, but that's why I have a friggin' digital camera - I check to see if it came out and if not I erase it and shoot again. I took a bunch of pictures at my family's Christmas party last night - very low light, only the Christmas tree and a few dim lamps - and most of my pictures turned out great.
As far as fitting in your pocket, what are you wearing, leather pants? Fits just fine in my pocket. It's a little thicker but shorter than most point & shoot film cameras.
And of course the S230 is nicer and smaller, it's more than double the price.

The 2650 is by no means perfect but it simply cannot be beat for $150.

Omegachi how do you go about comparing a $350+ camera to a $150 camera? Do you compare a metro to a lexus?
Personally I think the 2650 is a great camera just picked one up from staples with a 64mb card for $150 after the $50 off coupon, this is without a doubt the BEST camera for the money.

Hmmmmmm, I'll try...

Nikon Coolpix 2000? :)

How about 128 MB of Sandisk Compact Flash, and a Sandisk USB dual memory reader for $30 to go along with the camera?

Hmm, not sure but I thought the Nikon didn't have an optical viewfinder - certainly a deal breaker for some. Also, another expired deal (like the 128mb + reader) - the Fuji came with a free 64mb xd a week ago.

That's a nice deal on that Nikon, but:
#1. You have to get a Staples rep to PM and accept a coupon... I don't know about everyone else, but I've had quite a bit of trouble doing this in the past.
#2. From the reviews I've read at the Digicam sites, the Nikon is not superior to the Fuji. Both are rated pretty highly, with maybe a tiny edge to the Fuji's "feel" and picture quality. However, the Nikon uses CF, which is a definite plus because it's so cheap.

That is a good deal if you can get it though.

We recently got a "free" 2650 (some rewards program), and I like it. I'm far from
discriminating and knowledgeable as a camera user, but I've no problems with it.
Very easy to use, especially u/ling pics to the laptop. And I don't think it's bulky
in the least.

I've been taking photos for longer than I'm going to admit here, with both 35mm and digital equipment, and have used three or four different 2 megapixel cameras. I have the 2600 (very similar to the 2650) and have taken well over a thousand images with it and have had several opportunities to directly compare it with other 2M models. While the 2600/2650 is predominantly a point and shoot camera, and lacks a lot of bells and whistles, it's the pictures that count...and I don't think you'll find a better performing camera for $150. . The macro mode is also excellent as is the overall tonal balance, unlike lots of other comparable cameras. What I do not like about it is its not too big but ultra chunky size; it's also hard to grip and not easily carried around in a pants or shirt pocket. But it takes outstanding photos (for a 2M) and the 2650 at $150 is in my opinion the best digital value at the moment. Of course, with the time of year, etc. that could change next week.
