I don't know where this post should actually be so here it is. I have a FUJI 2600 Zoom digital 2 MP camera. I want to use it over the internet as a webcam for live video. The camera comes with a USB connection to my PC and a "USB PC CAM Mode" for live video. It also comes with some hoaky software called PictureHelloV1.1 which I believe is used for videoconferenceing similar to Microsoft NetMeeting via the FUJI server. There are absolutley no instrucions on how to use the software or the camera to broadcast webcam video over the internet. It also comes with Finepixviewer software. When I hit the "videoconferencing" button on the Finepixviewer GUI it opens the PictureHello screen and the video from my camera is displayed in one of two windows on my PC. The other window is for the person I am talking to but is of course blank. I do not know how to connect to a remote individual's webcam with this setup. It asks for an FTP server which I don't know if my ISP has one.
My ultimate goal is to use this camera as a webcam over MSN Messenger, ICQ or any other personal video service. I know little or nothing about webcam hookup or operation. The PictureHello software seems proprietery to the FUJI camera and I think the person on the other end has to have it installed which sucks. How can I accomplish this taskor can anyone direct me to a site with information in this area? I mailed FUJI but no response yet.
