i had bids on two similar items, both from the same seller. I ended up losing one of the bids, but won the other. Seeing as the power seller listed his items in bulk all the time, i emailed them to see if they had anymore and that'd i could ship them money for the two items ASAP. He never responded.

I admit...i kinda forgot about the auction after waiting a week with no reply to the email. Granted, the seller has no obligation to sell me another item outside of ebay, but the least he could have done was replied to my email. This is when the seller submits a Non-Paying Bid notice.

I quickly responded to the seller, apologized for not paying, but told them that i was still interested in the other item if it was for sale and i'd even send a little extra to cover any grief or trouble. The seller doesn't respond and after 3 days, i get ANOTHER non-paying big notice.

Kinda pissed, i try and email this guy...he uses the same email addy for his paypal and ebay, so i know the email is going to the right box. I sent the seller a firm letter, requesting that the seller get a hold of me....my cell phone, email, instant message, etc. was all left for him to contact me. Few more days go by, and sure enough, he submitted another non-paying bid notice and now my account is locked.

Pissed and furious, i sent the guy the money for just the one item. My ebay is locked, and i have a few items that i'm bidding on, but will undoubtedly lose b/c of this clown. That money was sent on last Wednesday, and i asked the seller to PLEASE CONTACT ME. I'm not sure how much more enraged i could have become. Sure enough, 4-5 days pass, no word from the seller, my account is still locked, and i have no idea if my small little items are going to be shipped.

GRRR!!!!

should have just sent the payment after the 1st notice. the seller probably has too many transactions to pay attention to your emails

that and eBay policies say that if someone asks you to sell outside of eBay then your supposed to not respond at all.

How would you feel if a big or even a small company had an attitude like that?

The least the seller could have done was contact him.

bmacd, have you tried telling ebay your side of the story?

Um you're not telling us the whole story here. Your account is locked because you failed to pay three separate sellers and they submitted a nonpaying bidder alert and final value credit against you. Ebay does not do anything for first or even second time final value credit offenses, only the third time! The recent situation was your third strike. You're nothing but a deadbeat so at least be willing to admit it.

When your account gets re-activated, you'll have your chance to submit appropriate feedback.

appropriate feedback?

he didnt pay! as vegetation stated it takes 3 NPB remarks to get a account locked so this aint the first time he did it.

Not only that he tried to purchase outside of ebay wich is against the rules.

what is he going to leave? "this guy gave me a NPB and ignored emails when i wanted to break ebay's rules!"? pfft.

bmacd fvucked up. thats it.

Why didn't you just PAY and THEN ask him if he would sell you a second one?
Something tells me Ebay just got a little bit less crappy.

This is one of the things about ebay that really makes me mad. It's not really your fault or so much his probably. It's that someone has their spam fitlers not set correctly. I've had people email me 100 times asking for responses and their spam filters are setup wrong so it's impossible to get a hold of them. If yo usend through ebay it shows your same email address and gets spam filtered. Effectively, he never got your email.

The only alternative is if he had an automated email. My paypal email is setup for an automated response and I never do anything with it but it doens't seem like he di that.

He wasn't in any obligation to sell you another item, though it was kind of dick of him not to respond.

You are a confirmed deadbeat as the other posters have stated, please stay off ebay.

btw, eBay now does have an option to sell the same item (or an extra one) legally to a non winning bidder at the price of their highest bid, it is called 2nd Chance. It's the same as if winning the auction, eBay will cover up to $200 and you can leave feedback as well. I find it pretty useful, I don't have to put up another auction and I know that the bidder is interested so I have a pretty good response rate.

^^ my thoughts too... ive been on ebay as a buyer and seller since 99... only had one bad transaction, overall i have pretty good faith in the system - although i do admit that most powersellers who have everything automated can be a bit more of a pita to get ahold of much less get a personal email from
