I like local stores because:
1. unless it's a specialty part or rare car, no waiting. Good if you dont have a spare car to drive.
2. Usually much easier to deal with on warranty issues.
recently i had a battery go bad on me that I had bought at advance auto parts almost 3 yeas ago. got a free replacement because it was within the 3 year limit. all i had to do was just bring it in and let them try to charge it and since it failed testing after charging I got a new one and I didn't even have to show the recept since I had bought it at that store.
Now, for my Triumph, just try to get a stock distributor cap and rotor at a local store. unless you have a store locally that specializes in that make, it ain't gonna happen.
