i work at the auto parts department of a store, and we sell several brands of fuel injector cleaner, mainly Motomaster, pennzoil, STP, and a few others i can't think of right now. Does anyone know if there is a reason to buy, say, the STP cleaner for $5 instead of the motomaster for $3? i'm curious because my injectors are getting a little noisy and i'm hoping this will ungunk them, and i also have quite a few customers who ask me :)

You must work at Canadian Tire. ;)

Sorry, I got no answer to your question... Maybe one works better then the other?

What does a noisy fuel injector sound like? Everything I have ever read says the those fuel injector cleaners do absolutely nothing.

yes, i do work at Canadian Tire. motomaster gave me away huh? :p

we have a whole isle dedicated to rice, i enjoy ripping them off, but i don't know if it's worth hearing the buzzing when they drive around :disgust:

and as for the noisy injector, it's ticking a lot louder than it used to. I never used to notice it but now it's quite noticible. I took it in for some warrantee work, and asked the tech about it and he said it was just the injectors.

Hehe... is there any other brand at Canadian tire? ;)

BTW, My dad says pretty much the same thing Dave said. He's a mechanic FYI.

Electronic fuel injectors do make clicking sounds as they fire...perfectly normal. If they stop making clicks, you're in trouble. And sometimes they do get clogged up on the inside...that's where the cleaner works. Me? I use BG-44. It's the best, but expensive. But it's a lot less expensive than a new set of injectors. On some Infinity models you can pay over $2000 for a set.
