I dont understand the "weak overclocking" comment....I thought GF100 scaled really well as long as you could keep the heat under control....

Yeah, the P4 prescott would have also scaled well if you could keep the heat "under control," but as far as I can see, you can't. The fact is the gf100 spews off way too much heat for the performance it offers.

Not understanding how fuad interprets things is very rare. Personally I am shocked.

The L2 story is clearly in error. The L2 cache is the biggest texture cache in NVIDIA's design (it has a much smaller L1 texture cache: 12KB). Removing the L2 cache would murder performance due to the pixel shaders (among other things) having to hit up the VRAM far more often. I'm not even sure NVIDIA's architecture can handle removing the L2 cache.
