FU TPMS !

Not only does this thing increase the cost of buying tires, it also increases the total over all cost of maintaining the car. It goes off when it's too hot....it goes off when it's too cold....this thing cannot be bothered!

now, since my car is out of it bumper to bumper warrenty (still have drivetrain warrenty going, though), I have to pay for this dumb sensor going off.

Sorry for the rant.

The TPMS sensors in me and bro's Expedition have never went off as long as we keep proper air in the tires. Paramount anyways on an SUV considering the mileage savings.

Try just checking the tire pressure? (Eyeballing it isn't always the best indicator especially on low profile tires).

Whats stopping you from pulling the sensors out and putting them into a pressurized container at 30psi and dumping it in the trunk?

Mazda's system sucks badly.

My '04 Mazda3 freaked out in any temp over 90 degrees (sucked in AZ) and anything under 20 degrees (Sucks in the Midwest).

My '08 Mazda5 is the same exact way.

How far out of spec does it read before it alerts you? Sounds like it must do it at just a few psi difference. I've got TPMS on my 08 Accord and from what I've read online it will only alert you once it's under 25psi or over 40psi (recommendation is 32psi). It's kind of a mixed blessing. You won't get nearly as many false alarms (I haven't had it go off once), but to me 25psi is just way too low.

I love the TPMS on my 2005 Acura. Not a peep out of it from South Texas to Florida to Boston in almost 4 years.

No. We have kept our tires with the proper amount of air. It wasn't driven in the winter last year. For all you know it cost $0

I never understood why it was made mandatory. Anyone who doesn't check their tire pressure regularly deserve to buy tires more frequently, or die, which ever comes first.

It was made mandatory because stability/roll control has been made mandatory.

This may be a case where the added stability of nitrogen in your tires may finally pay off.

My Mazda5 has nitrogen in it's tires and it still freaks out in extreme temps.

If it was a simple problem of checking my tire pressure - then how can the same tire be "over inflated" in the summer and throw it off, and then turn around and be "underinflated" in the winter with no user intervention?

I still stand by the reservation that Mazda's system sucks.

My Nissan only complains when the temp changes enough to affect the pressure. Although, one time my tires were about 30 psi except for the one that was about 25 psi. Then it cooled down even more later on and the TPS went off again. I had a scheduled service coming up, so they just dealt with it.

What I meant is the Lexus TMPS system is obviously a better system than Mazda's which seems to go off every time the temperature changes.

My speed3's indicator has been on for the last 4 days or so, since the temps got below 20 or so consistently. Same thing happened with my 3 series, any drastic change in temps tripped them off, I'm not too worried about it, I checked the levels and I'm within spec.
