Hi,
I have a home web server that needs maximum security. We've gotten hacked in the past... even though the site barely gets enough hits to even justify hacking. Right now I have 99% of all ports firewalled. You can access the web server via http: (of course) and through Windows' Remote Desktop Connection with a specific port address, but that is pretty much it.
I'm looking for the best, more secure way to directly upload to my web server from a remote computer.
I use Dreamweaver MX. My options (within the program) to upload are:
FTP
Local/Network
RDS
WebDAV
Which of these options is the most secure way to upload? I'm looking to open as little ports as possible more than are already open. Any links to guides, information on the security protocols, would be very helpful.
Thanks!
