I'm having a slight problem with my Filezilla FTP server... I cannot, for the life of me, get people outside my network to connect to my FTP server. It fails at the "Directory Listing" part. I even tried several outside tests, and yet it doesn't get past that portion.

I've forwarded the ports on Windows Firewall, in my ASUS RT-N56U, I've also forwarded the ports there. I've even gone as far as disabling the Firewall in the ASUS Router, and yet it still comes up with an error (according to ftptest.net it's a NEW error -- Connection Refused) while everywhere else is still having the issue of directory list error.

My setup:

Windows 7 X64 Ultimate
Verizon FIOS.
Filezilla FTP Server
ASUS RT-N56U

FTP running on port 20000 (since I know 21 is blocked on a residential address)
canyouseeme.org says that this port is open.

anybody have any ideas? My Fios Router is configured to be in BRIDGED mode.

Are you set for "passive" FTP? It make it more firewall friendly.

Also check permissions for the users in W7 and Filezilla.

Anybody has any suggestions?

You have to do a great many things to make FTP work with NAT and firewalls (on the server and on the firewall/nat device). Google "ftp nat" and there are guides out there. Your data channel isn't working, the control channel is. This is a very common symptom/problem.

Running on a non-standard port only makes it more of a headache, but it can be done.
