Im lookin for a good Freeware FTP server for Win2k. Also, what kind of security issues do I face using an FTP server. I plan on leaving it on when Im out or over friends' houses - never know when I might need some file.
thanks,
-doug
Win2k comes with an FTP server built into it. It's called Internet Information Services (IIS). You just have to go to add/remove programs and install it. I'm not sure if it's the best FTP server around, but I can tell you from experience that it gets the job done.
Serv-u and G6 FTP server are great to, but they are not free. Even though I've never had to pay for Serv-u and I've been using it for over a year, all you do is reinstall it after about 30 days.
