FTP Server for Win2K??

Any suggestions for a decent, preferably free, ftp server software that will run under Win2k for the server I'm sticking together?

Thanks a lot,
misle

Win2K has it's own server, but it can be a b1tch to set up. I tried, and ended up using G6... that's an awesome server, and so is Serv-U.

IIS comes with win2k and it's really easy to setup. However, if you are using win2k pro then I think you may be limited to 10 simultaneous connections, so you may want to try something else.

Wizkid,

I think the 10 simultaneous connections thing is gonna be there for ALL programs running in Win2k. That's a hard-coded limit that Microsoft places into the kernel, hoping to differentiate Win2k "pro" from "server."

Personally, I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE disabled software. M$ claims it's for "performance reasons" since Pro isn't tuned as a server. So what? If I want to run a slow server, I should be able to!

(If you couldn't tell, I'm just a little TO'd about the limit...)

I was trying to use IIS Server in Win2k, but was have quite a bit of difficulty trying to add dir's that are not in the home dir. Finally after posting about 3 threads here and getting no help i gave up and used G6. G6 had be the best server i had ever used since ServeU. G6 would install and run but i was having with clients logging in. So after about 2 weeks of t/s'ing i finally went back to old faithful, Win98. Everthing is working like a champ now.

Good luck
