FTP Server Behind Router

Hi I am trying to setup an FTP Server behind a Router.

derekftp.no-ip.info (not giving you my ip)

DG814 ADSL Modem Router Config:
UPnP: On
Forwarded port 21 to my internal ip
Forwarded ports 50000-50100 also t my internal ip

GuildFTP config:
Under Passive mode, I put my real ip (static)
set the port range i forwarded in the router (above)
set a path to be my kazaa shared folder
set virtual path to "/"

Its running right now, one of you geeks try to connect to derekftp.no-ip.info and see the error it gives. Ive done everything that Ive read in FAQs/Tutorials/etc all hopeless.

I have tested the server on an online ftp test site, and I can see the connection pops up in the current connections menu in GuildFTP, but its like the server is stupid and wont give it access.

now thats something i wanna know how you did!!

It hasnt rained in a freaking week!!!!

Im from Ohio originally though, just moved 6 months ago.

Just a tip - advertising your FTP where you are allowing people to download copyrighted material is bound to get you smacked by the Mods.
You should make it clear that you are only "testing" and that downloads are at your own risk.

Its pretty clear im testing (theres not that much on there anyway).
A friend says he can log in but cant see anything (Hes a izonews freak, so I know his FTP client is ok).

I wanna know if you guys are making any config changes in your ftp client to see me.

i was able to logon the first time and when I did it hangs on the directory listing.
Since you are behind a router, this is usually a problem with NAT or PASV transfers. by selecting "host is behind NAT/firewall/non routeable IP" in my lcient i was able to connect as normal.
If your ftp runs on port 21, you should also open up port 20 as it can be used as well for return traffic.

Forward it to my pc n the router just like i did with port 21?

If so , do I edit the port 21 forward to say 20-21? Or do a separate forward just for 20?

Also, I cant connect from the same oc using smartftp. It only works if i use my internal ip. Is this normal?

IOW, I tried to test it from my pc, to the internet (via router) and back into my pc.
